Okay this is really exciting! Finally finally, it looks like the novel will be OUT THERE for you to read in about 3 weeks (let's say June 2008) from www.captstonefiction.com.
"Julia's Quest" has had a rough time of it...life kept interrupting my progress and...well i'll spare you those details. The important thing is the novel is now completed (though I have since even reconsidered some things...oh the torture of editing) and ready to be read.
After you have a chance to read it, let's talk!
oh, go to www.storykim.com and (in three weeks) I'll have posted the press release...

So why is Julia such a selfish bee-ach? Her mom was so vulnerable and touching in the room scene after the funeral-she reminded me of my mom "...patting a place by the bed for her to sit down." She's too much like the father - is she "his"?

This may sound strange...but I found her difficult to get to like also. You can imagine how odd to be the writer and not feel particularly warm toward your protagonist! As for your question, I think intuitively she felt betrayed--and as you've no doubt read by now, you know why she feels betrayed! On several levels!
Thanks for your comment--
